Hello on this snowy Wednesday in March! I hope you are keeping warm.
Some of you may be aware that in addition to yoga, I also teach mindfulness meditation. In fact, I had regular classes in Spain and occasional online classes during the lockdown in the UK.
If you practiced yoga with me, you would know that I always start classes with a short mindfulness exercise and breathwork. It’s a great feeling and achievement to be 100% present with the body and mind while practicing yoga. Increasingly, I’m noticing that people are drawn to, and getting a lot out of these few minutes of self-reflection and quite rightly so. Our world is constantly changing around us, bringing with it new previously unknown challenges.
So, if people feel they would benefit from longer sessions of mindfulness meditation, I would like to organise these in central Bath on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
These are some of the meditation techniques that I will be teaching if it goes ahead:
– Self-inquiry or “Atma Vichara” (for self-realisation)
– Loving kindness meditation (encourages forgiveness)
– Chakra activation and healing meditation (to release any blocked energy from the chakras)
– Becoming the observer (observing the mind to help quieten the chatter)
– Pranayama (various yogic breathing techniques)
These meditation techniques help with calming the mind, reducing stress, improving sleep, creating greater self-awareness, improving openness to forgive and change and thereby improving relationships, encouraging creativity, and providing a sense of joy and fulfilment . With that in mind, I found a lovely wellness centre in central Bath that offers sound baths; and their beautiful space, “The Quantum Field”, is available most evenings for meditation. See image below.

Classes will be available on subscription (as well as drop-ins of course) as I will also be paying monthly rate for use of the venue.
