Coming Soon to Bath: Immersion – A Fusion of Power Yoga & Yoga Philosophy

Today, I am one step closer to bringing you specially crafted weekly vinyasa flow classes in Bath!

I have almost all the necessary details in place – date, time, place and a unique yoga offer. I have consulted a few people and am currently receiving responses. Soon it will be time to press the ‘start’ button!

Whether you received an email from me or not, it would be extremely helpful if you could let me know – if you are in Bath, what you think about my plan, as detailed below. It could make all the difference. Thank you in advance.

So, here’s the plan.

What?

We will practice a fusion of power yoga (vinyasa flow) themed around yoga philosophy. The classes will mostly focus on yoga asanas (poses), similar to the vinyasa yoga that some of you currently practice with me, but will encompass an important element – a step-by-step journey towards the true meaning of yoga, its principles and ultimate goal. The course would be ideal for people who not only enjoy the physical aspect of yoga but are also fascinated about the theory behind it.

Over a period of 6 weeks, we will go through Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga (yoga principles) – limb by limb – and practice asanas and pranayamas (yogic breathing) in alignment with these principles. We will start with the Yamas and end with Samadhi (see image); which means each class will be different and meaningful.

Clean yoga equipment will be provided (mats, blocks, straps and blankets). But you are welcome to bring your own should you wish to.

When?

All being well, we’ll start on Tuesday 7 May from 5.45pm to 6.45pm and continue weekly. The 6-week course will be repeated and continue to roll thereafter.

Where?

Dragonfly Leisure Centre at Upper Oldfield Park Bath BA2 3LA is located at Haysfield Girls School. There’s a free car park at the centre and it’s also free to park on Upper Oldfield Park.

We have a bright and airy studio overlooking a beautiful well looked after garden. The glass doors can be opened in the summer. Below is a photo along with a map. I’m planning to have no more than 8 people so it’s a nice small group.

How much?

The 6-week course will be £60, a fair price. Plus, as a launch offer, you will get a 50% discount on your first class when you book on the course. So it’s just £55 for 6 classes. If you wish to try it out with the first class before committing (especially if you’ve never been to my classes and don’t know what to expect), you can attend the first class on pay-as-you-go (PAYG) basis and if you then decide to continue, you will still benefit from the block booking offer plus the launch offer.

PAYG rate is £12 per class. This might be a good option if you are unable to come to all 6 classes.

Where do I sign up?

Bookings will soon be open on Eventbrite and Momence! Stay tuned. Note that the course will only be available on Momence as they have the right platform for courses. PAYG classes can be booked on either platform. I would advise advance booking to guarantee your place. Remember we have 8 places per class and yogis booked on the 6-week course take priority.

Course requirements: when you first book on a class or a course, you will receive a short health screening form to complete before attending your very first class (only required once). You have most probably done the same thing when you first joined a health club or a gym, so it’s no different.

Feel free to comment below or email me from my website to express your interest or make suggestions.

See you soon on the mat!
